Catholic Radar is a news aggregator website about the Catholic Church.
Catholic Radar is carried out by a group of nine volunteers, Spaniards and Argentinians, from different professions. Several of them are retired. The team has an interdisciplinary background with a wealth of experience in various fields (business management, communication, teaching, maritime supervision and even the air force).
The coordinator of the project is Javier García Herrería, a philosophy professor who has been working in the field of religious information since 2022. He is a contributor to various media and has a free weekly newsletter where he summarises church news.
Those of us responsible for this project know that we are newcomers to the field of religious information. We do not work from Rome and we are far from knowing with certainty what is really happening in the Vatican or elsewhere in the world. Nevertheless, we aspire to select what is being said about the Church with a minimum of credibility; what the main agencies, media and other lesser known sources publish about the Church; and what relevant news escapes the big headlines.
Each day we crawl the articles of some 150 publications and select those we consider most relevant to readers. We will inevitably miss many interesting texts, so we are happy to receive suggestions and comments on our mail.
