Analysis and context articles

To end the week we leave some interesting articles to deepen and broaden the view on some current issues.

It is difficult to know the real motivation behind many things that happen in the Vatican and this week we have had a good example of this. A few days ago the Pope issued a Motu Proprio changing the legislation concerning Vatican judges. Here are two articles with plausible and very different interpretations.

Catechesis beyond the Bolletino

Pope Francis catequesis miércoles wednesday

(Catholic Radar Team).

Cold morning in Rome, with 10 degrees Celsius.

The Pope looked good during the audience and read the text without difficulty.

The first two quadrants of chairs were quite crowded. The next two were much less crowded.

The catechesis was on the theological virtues (faith, hope and charity). It is available in the Bolletino.

The Pope expressed his solidarity with the conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine and Myanmar. He pointed out that war is a defeat and that those who win are the arms manufacturers.

Editor’s note

In a statement by Luis Badilla, published this afternoon in Il Messagero, the author of Il Sismógrafo said: “I read in amazement that there would be an information project that would take over the Seismograph experience. I deny having ever had anything to do with this project linked to Opus Dei and I don’t even understand why they should use my name”.

From Catholic Radar we want to confirm that indeed this project has no relation with the work developed by Luis, widely praised for his rigor and altruism. We are truly sorry for any misunderstandings that may have arisen in some people.

We also wish to clarify that this project has no institutional relationship with Opus Dei or any other institution of the Church. In fact, the editor is looking for volunteers from a variety of ecclesial sensibilities.

Catholic Radar has no intention of hiding the fact that the editor of the project does belong to Opus Dei, as can be seen in the news item published by Aciprensa this morning.

What the Bolletino doesn’t say about the Pope’s audience

Pope Francis catequesis miércoles wednesday

Sunny morning in Rome, 14 degrees Celsius.

The Pope looked well during the audience and read the text without difficulty.

The first two quadrants of chairs were three-quarters full. The next two were even more.

The catechesis was on the virtue of temperance. It´s available in the Bolletino.

The Pope expressed his solidarity with the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, especially with the prisoners and those suffering torture.
