Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, Archbishop-Bishop emeritus of Albano

He received his initial formation in the Pontifical Regional Seminary “Pius XI” of Apulia and subsequently completed his theological studies in the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, where he was awarded a licentiate and a doctorate in sacred theology.  He then began his ministry teaching dogmatic theology in the Theological Institute of Apulia and ecclesiology in the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Lateran University.

Cardinal John Tong Hon, Bishop emeritus of Hong Kong, was born on 31 July 1939 in Hong Kong, China.

He was ordained a priest by Pope Paul VI on 6 January 1966, together with 61 other deacons from 23 mission countries. In 1970 he became president of the diocesan Ecumenical Commission and, in 1980, director of the Holy Spirit Study Centre. He has also worked on the journal Concilium.
